DRDO is one of India’s most respected defence organisations. For a special occasion, they envisioned a memorable gift: miniature tank models on acrylic stands with the DRDO emblem, produced at scale with high finish.
Design for FDM without compromising strength or aesthetics; plan multi-part, multi-quantity production; run printers continuously; standardise placement on acrylic stands; and package economically to meet transport limits — while meeting a 30-day deadline and quality standards.
Sahas formed cross-functional teams for design, production, and finishing; used FDM (and selective SLS) to optimise strength and detail; built stencils for consistent placement; and implemented painting and packaging to accelerate throughput without compromising aesthetics.
We analysed the model design, prepared print-ready parts, and scheduled round-the-clock FDM runs. Parallel teams handled sanding and paint (two primers, two coats), then used stencils to mount each tank on acrylic stands, added logos, and completed protective, cost-efficient packaging for dispatch.
Delivered 100 high-quality tank models within 30 days, complete with consistent stand placement and premium finish. In total, we produced 400 wheels, 200 strips, and 200 hinges, then mounted, stickered, and packed every unit—meeting DRDO’s expectations and our production targets without overruns on logistics, cost, and timeline commitments too.
